New record release!

My latest recording, All In All is available on all digital platforms, with physical copies available from Alliance Entertainment, Amazon Marketplace and Super D. The album features 12 new originals, and one gospel nugget. I'm super excited about this one because the band organically coalesced around my tunes, making more room for the magic to happen. Check out the samples on the MUSIC page. Continue Reading

2 New Videos in the Works!

I'm starting the '20s with two brand new videos. I'm using 2 vastly different tracks from 2 of my records, and each video will have a completely different vibe from the other. Look for the first one in about two months. Continue Reading

New Record Release!

That's right! I'm at it again. Good Music marks yet another sonic departure for me: a bass/drums/saxophone affair. Though I've recorded a few things and played many gigs with this instrumentation, I've never attempted a whole record's worth. I've composed some fun new material for the occasion, and arranged some super cool cover tunes. Full disclosure: I couldn't resist adding a few chords! Guitarist Dan Balmer joins me on 4 tracks, and accordionist Mike Danner graces 1. Both the ... Continue Reading

Keep an eye out for the March, 2018 issue of Downbeat magazine. I contributed an article on the art of hiring and leading a band, and I'm featured in a fun Bari reed and mouthpiece ad. Downbeat Magazine Continue Reading

New Video

I've finally release my latest contribution to the video onslaught. But this one kicks it up a notch: it's a call to arms against the wave of ignorance that has descended upon us. Among all the new regime's reckless and dangerous moves, the further destruction of the environment will have the most permanent consequences. We can't stand by and let this happen. We owe it to our children to stand up against the earth killers.   Continue Reading

Summer Update

If you're wondering about the dearth of new gigs and other career action, it's due to a big move out of PDX. I'm close by and will be back in action as soon as the chaos subsides. Stay tuned!   Continue Reading

Recent Tour

The DW Quartet and Trio's recent California tour was a blast. Stellar musicians Randy Vincent, Doug Miller and Alex Aspinal tore it up. We played to enthusiastic audiences in the Bay Area and points North, including a sold out show in Cloverdale and some 300 folks at Jupiter in Berkeley. One of the highlights was a masterclass we did up at Sonoma State. The kids were engaged, asked great questions, and played their backsides off. It was also open to the public, which made the proceedi... Continue Reading
